10U Player to Watch Rashard (Shardie) Lucas - Panama City, FL - Panama City, FL

Rashard "Shardie" Lucas has decided to play his age group this year for the first time in seven years, and he is simply awesome. Anyone who has ever seen this player on the field would agree. He played last year with the 10U Bay Bombers, playing against some of the nation's top teams when he was only 9.
Shardie had just two total strikeouts all of last season, and he has none this Fall as he plays shortstop for the 10U Sluggers out of Georgia. Lucas is one to watch as he strives to play with perfection to one day join his brother in the majors. Yes, Shardie's older brother Richard Lucas plays third base in the Mets minor league organization.
Drafted two years ago out of Wolfson H.S., they have worked together for many hours, and it is really showing with Rashard's play. Rashard has the speed, agility, smoothness, knowledge and confidence not normally found in a 10U player. Shardie simply stands out. Look for him this year in the southern states' tournaments. He is a joy to watch.
