11U Sandlot All-Stars Black off to Hot Start in 2013
The 11U Sandlot All-Stars Black team out of Chandler, Arizona has been together since they were 8 years old, and they have been one of the top teams out west and around the nation during that time.
“This team for many reasons is my favorite team I have coached throughout the years based on attitudes, desire, work ethic and overall team chemistry,” Head Coach Brent Densmore said. Densmore has been leading these young men for the past two years.
The All-Stars Black finished as the top team in Arizona last season, competing up in 11U for most of the year. They took home six tournament championships, two of which were in 11U, and placed third in the Arizona Spring Nationals. Overall, the Sandlot All-Stars Black posted a 58-15 record in USSSA and Triple Crown sanctioned events. They played in just over 100 games and finished No. 11 in the country, according to USSSA.
This season, the All-Stars Black started off with a win in the Halloween Scream tournament in Arizona. Other major tournaments included a third place finish in the Arizona Winter Nationals, second in the 15th Annual MLK Super NIT in California and third place in the Arizona Spring Nationals.
They are off to a 41-10 start this season with four tournament wins, two of which were against 12U open competition. The team plans on attending the 11U Elite Invitational in Las Vegas in late April, a TbS Super Regional in Vegas on Memorial Day weekend, and the Cecil Fielder Elite World Series in June in Riverside, California.
