2016 Baseball Youth Majors Recaps- North Myrtle Beach

PR

June 12-17, 2016

We started the Baseball Youth Majors Week-Long Experiences in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The tournament brought together over forty teams representing 12 different states.

9U Division

In this particular division the competition was quite top heavy. After pool play was complete there were three teams with records of 4-1. Those teams were Broncos Baseball (TX), Central Florida Renegades, and Central Florida Bandits. Just one game behind was the TBSA Patriots (FL) with a record of 3-2. When it came to bracket play TBSA turned it on advancing all the way to the Championship including a 15-5 win over Broncos Baseball (TX) in the Semifinals. Waiting for the Patriots in the Championship was the Central Florida Bandits, where the Bandits used their offensive fire power to come with a 17-9 victory.

10U Division

In the 10U Division the winner was clearer cut. That ended up being another one of the TBSA Patriots (FL) teams. In pool play they sported a 5-0 record only giving up a total of 7 total runs in that span. What was more impressive though was their run in bracket play. As the number one seed the team pitched three straight shutouts to take the 10U Majors title. Also in the 10U Division was the Mama’s Boys who went 4-1 in pool play, but were knocked out in the first round of bracket play.

11U Division

The 11U Bracket was ran by two teams from the Sunshine State. Team Tampa (FL) and another TBSA Patriots team. Both teams met early in pool play where the Patriots won a close contest 4-3. In the Championship game though Team Tampa came out with revenge on their minds taking the hardware winning 10-2.

12U Division

Another division that featured quality teams on top. The Russellville Storm, Myrtle Beach Rays, and the West Coast Warriors all finished 4-1. While the Louisville Storm finished 3-1 to end bracket play Wednesday night. The Championship was an absolute thriller. It was the Russellville Storm and West Coast Warriors meeting where the Warriors one upped the Storm winning the division 5-4.

13U Division

In bracket play two teams from the Hoosier state collected the top two seeds. The Lids Indiana Bulls Black finished with a perfect mark taking the top spot, while the Fort Wayne Diamondbacks finished 4-1 with their only loss coming to the Bulls. In bracket play though a real surprise occurred. Coastal Rage finished pool play 1-4 but were able to string some wins together in bracket play making it all the way to the championship. Their Cinderella magic did come to an end though losing to the Bulls 15-0 in the final game of the bracket. It was perfect tournament for the Bulls going 7-0.

14U Division

In the oldest age division the top two teams from pool play were able to transition their success over to bracket play. Those two teams were Team Legacy Greyhounds Blue and the CF Panthers. In the Championship game the Greyhounds were able to push by the Panthers claiming the Majors title 7-4.
