Baseball Youth All-American Games 2017 Summer Information


It’s time for the 2017 Baseball Youth Summer All-American Games in Elizabethtown, KY! The All-American Games features over 335 players from 39 different states & three countries! The information below should provide you with a good sense of what the weekend entails.

The 2017 Baseball Youth Summer All-American Games will officially begin with Opening Ceremonies on Thursday evening at the University of Louisville’s Jim Patterson Stadium. Friday includes team practices (one & a half hours), at least one pool play game per squad & some clubs will complete their skills & measurables session (one hour), all at Elizabethtown Sports Park. Saturday continues with two pool play games, skills & measurables sessions for teams & concludes with the Home Run Derby in the evening. Sunday features bracket play for each class, culminating with the crowning of champions.

Thursday Opening Ceremonies: Black shorts, tennis shoes or turfs (no cleats or spikes), red AAG jersey & white BYAA hat (both the jersey & hat will be picked up at check-in at Jim Patterson Stadium on Thursday)

Friday Team Practice: Navy AAG jersey, white baseball pants, white AAG hat, red or navy belt, red or navy socks, white AAG hat, turfs or cleats

All Games: Navy or red AAG jersey (coin flip will determine home/away & jersey color for all games & teams), white baseball pants, white AAG hat, red or navy belt, red or navy socks, cleats

Friday/Saturday Skills & Measurables Session: Navy or red AAG jersey (either color is fine), white baseball pants, white AAG hat, red or navy belt, red or navy socks, turfs or cleats

NOTE: Players are encouraged to bring ALL necessary baseball equipment, including, but not limited to, bats, gloves, cleats, helmets, catcher’s gear, elbow guards, etc. No equipment will be provided.

For Thursday night’s Opening Ceremonies at Jim Patterson Stadium, please park in the lot beyond left field. Head north on 3rd Street, turn right onto Tway Street  & proceed into the parking lot. The physical address of Patterson Stadium is 3015 S. 3rd Street, Louisville, KY 40208.

Parking at Elizabethtown Sports Park for Friday, Saturday & Sunday is free. The physical address of the Elizabethtown Sports Park is 1401 West Park Road, Elizabetown, KY 42701.

The Home Run Derby will take place Saturday night at 7:30pm was limited to the first 10 registrants from each class (2021-2027).

The skills/measurables session for each team includes every participant running the 60-yard or 40-yard dash (60: Classes of 2012-2024 / 40: Classes 2025-2027), vertical jump, broad jump, shuttle run, ball exit speed off a tee, infield throwing velocity, outfield throwing velocity & catcher pop times. Pitching velocities will be captured during game play. The data recorded during the skills & measurables session will be included on each player’s personal profile on the redesigned Baseball Youth website this Fall.

As you know, Baseball is an outdoor sport & weather can always impact an event’s schedule. If adverse weather is encountered, Baseball Youth will do everything possible to complete three pool play games, plus bracket play for each division. If adjustments are needed to complete games, the skills & measurables sessions will be eliminated first, followed by the Home Run Derby. We appreciate your understanding.
