Baseball Youth National Tryouts Launching This Season

Events held around the U.S. will identify country’s standout players
for premier Baseball Youth events

The Baseball Youth National Tryouts, sponsored by SKLZ, EvoShield, OC Sports, and Majestic, are for serious travel ball players looking to showcase their game and take it to the next level. Tryouts will be hosted all over the country as Baseball Youth is looking for the best youth players to compete in various national events such as the Baseball Youth All-American Games, Baseball Youth Future Games, Baseball Youth Elite Teams and the Baseball Youth All-Star Challenge at the National Youth Baseball Championships in New York.

The first National Tryout is scheduled for Dec. 20 at Champions Park in Newberry, Florida. Champions Park is hosting another tryout on Feb. 8, 2015 during the Baseball Youth Winter Championships. Two other National Tryouts this winter will be held in Vero Beach, Florida at Historic Dodgertown on Jan. 2, 2015 and Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Cypress Mounds Sports Complex on March 7, 2015.

Players ages 8U-14U will gain valuable experience in this tryout/showcase type setting. A variety of skills will be tested from hitting, fielding, throwing, running, agility and pitching. Official Baseball Youth scouts will evaluate the players and provide feedback to everyone with tips and drills to take home and work on to improve. As the Baseball Youth National Tryouts progress, many players will be selected for the Baseball Youth All-American Games (Winter and Summer Sessions), Baseball Youth Future Games (Spring and Fall Sessions), Baseball Youth All-Star Challenge (on CBS Sports Network), and individual Baseball Youth Elite Teams that compete in various national events.

Both the Baseball Youth All-American Games and Baseball Youth Future Games bring together the best players in the country from 8U-14U in a competitive yet fun tournament to see who can claim bragging rights in each age group. The Baseball Youth All-American Games (Summer Session) is hosted at the new Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana, and the Baseball Youth All-American Games (Winter Session) is held at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida. The Baseball Youth Future Games are held during Fall and Spring seasons with locations being announced soon.

Baseball Youth Elite Teams compete at Disney Baseball events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Florida, Ripken Baseball events in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and USA Baseball National events in Palm Beach, Florida. These teams are made up of players from all over the country wearing the Baseball Youth name across their chests.

The Baseball Youth All-Star Challenge is the premier All-Star event for 12U players with national television coverage from CBS Sports Network. MLB.com carried live online streaming of the All-Star Challenge during the NYBC Week in 2014. Players chosen represent their region – East, South, Central and West – and compete against each other to see what region will come out on top. In 2014, CBS Sports Network televised four games live including the South’s 11-7 championship win over East.
