Cincy Flames 12U Ready to Take on Best Teams in Midwest

The 12U Cincy Flames out of Cincinnati, Ohio opened their 2013 season March 22-24 at the Hatfield and McCoy Shootout in Cincinnati. They went 1-1 with their Sunday game being cancelled due to rain. This past weekend the Flames ran into two nationally ranked teams, Lids Indiana Bulls Black and Baseball Youth Elite, eventually falling to both. The team plans to play in 70 games this summer in tournaments and very competitive round robins with some of the best teams in the Midwest.

Head Coach Bill Pitts is now in his second season with the 12U team. The Flames had a good season last year, playing in the CABA World Series and the Columbus Super NIT, but Pitts sees a lot of room for improvement this summer.

To prepare for the season, the Flames participate in a rigorous training program at their indoor facility, SWOBAT. They have 36 practices that focus on pitching, fielding and hitting.

The Flames will have a chance to prove themselves in some major tournaments this summer. They will be playing at the Cooperstown Dreams Park, the CABA World Series and the Kentucky Pre-Season Championships in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Be on the lookout for pitcher Clay Brock, P/C/IF Drake Stiles, IF/C Koby Schmidt and OF/P Gavin Pitts.
