Disney’s Sun and Surf Baseball Bash a Big Hit At ESPN Wide World of Sports
Disney Baseball and the ESPN Wide World of Sports hosted yet another successful Memorial Day tournament as they kicked off the summer with the annual Disney’s Sun and Surf Baseball Bash. Play got under way May 25 and championships were played on May 28.
Over 40 teams came to Orlando and Walt Disney World for four days of baseball and fun at the different theme parks on site. Florida teams made up the majority of the lineup, and as a result the Sunshine State dominated the champions podium.
The only non-Florida team to win a championship was the Atlanta Warriors from Georgia, and they played the closest championship game of the tournament. Playing against the Deltona Renegades from Florida, the Warriors were down 6-5 going into the top of the fifth inning. The Atlanta boys came back with one run in the sixth and one more in the seventh to win the title.
Congratulations to the Disney’s Sun and Surf Baseball Bash Champions!
