Final Baseball Youth Issue of 2012 Released
Baseball Youth, The Nation’s Baseball Magazine for Kids, honors the World Champion San Francisco Giants and National League Most Valuable Player Buster Posey in its final issue of 2012.
The Giants won the World Series title for the second time in three years, and Baseball Youth covers San Francisco’s improbable postseason run where they went 6-0 in elimination games before sweeping the Detroit Tigers.
A big part of the Giants success in 2012 was the performance of catcher Buster Posey who came back from a severe leg injury in 2011 to win the NL MVP this year. Posey graces the newest Baseball Youth cover as he teamed up with World Series MVP Pablo Sandoval to create a potent 1-2 punch in the playoffs.
Baseball Youth also celebrates American League MVP and Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera with a full-length tear out poster. The Tigers third baseman became the first player to achieve the Triple Crown since Carl Yastrzemski back in 1967.
With the holiday season on its way, Baseball Youth includes an eight-page Holiday Guide section, featuring 40 of the hottest products kids will surely want to add to their wish list. From bats, gloves, cleats and bags to apparel, equipment and more, Baseball Youth has it covered.
Other highlights in the final issue of 2012 include a feature on Tampa Bay Rays starter James Shields, a look into the creation of two can’t-miss Baseball Youth tournaments for 2013, and plenty of tournament news and reader photos from around the country.
