Florida Battalion 11U Beating Up Competition Early on in 2013

Jason Miller started the Florida Battalion Baseball Club in Tampa Bay, Florida in 2011 and fielded a 10U major team that went to the USSSA Elite 32 World Series in its first year.

Since then, the club has added an additional team and now fields a 9U and 11U team. The 11U team plays up an age group for league play and preparatory tournaments in advance of important tournaments in their own age group.

The coaching staff is top notch with several of the coaches having played MLB and/or college baseball.

The Battalion has won four of the six tournaments they have played in thus far in 2013 including the USSSA Spring Warm-Up, the Central Florida Showdown IX and the USSSA Tampa Bay Classic. Overall, the Battalion is 62-15 in the 2012-13 season with eight of their losses coming from playing up to 12U competition.

The team travels to tournaments all over Florida and some in Georgia. Miller’s team is continuing to work hard to qualify for the TbS National Championship in Texas this summer. The Battalion is currently ranked No. 1 in the country in points and is in the top ten in power rating by the USSSA.

Be sure to check out the Battalion in the upcoming USSSA Elite World Series in Kissimmee, Florida as well as the Cecil Fielder Elite World Series in Riverside, California.
