Jay Criscione Super NIT Kicks Off This Weekend

The first of many Super NIT tournaments gets underway this weekend, as teams age 8U – 18U will be competing in the 4th Annual Jay Criscione Super NIT in South Carolina.

“Leave it all on the field” is the tournament’s motto, and you can bet teams will be doing exactly that, as they face off in this massive tournament which will award each of the winners 300 USSSA points. In addition to the points, the major class tournament winners will also receive a berth to the Disney Elite 32 at the end of the year.

The tournament will follow the traditional format of pool play games to determine seeding, followed by single-elimination bracket play until a champion is decided.

The Jay Criscione Tournament is the inaugural Super NIT tournament of the 2013 season, and marks the beginning of the busy season for USSSA fall ball. The tournament will take place in two different locations, with the 11U, and 13U major teams playing in Greenville/Spartanburg, and the 10U, and 12U major teams playing in Lexington.

While many teams around the country have packed up the cleats until 2013, some have their sights set on locking up that early Elite 32 berth, so they don’t have to worry about it for the rest of the season. Take a look below at who’s competing in each of the 10U – 13U major age groups:
