San Diego Show Earn Latest Bid to National Youth Baseball Championships

The San Diego Show is the third California team to earn an automatic bid to the National Youth Baseball Championships in New York.

And then there were three.

The San Diego Show became the third California team to earn an automatic bid to the National Youth Baseball Championships with their performance at the Xtreme Diamond Sports Elite World Series in San Diego on June 13-16.

The Show dropped the 12U title game to the SGV Hustle, the No. 1 team in the nation, but earned the bid as runner-up because the Hustle previously qualified in May. The Show went 4-0 in pool play and even defeated the Hustle, 7-4. They also defeated the San Diego STARS and VSA Vipers, the No. 5 and No. 6 ranked teams, respectively.

With their outstanding play, the Show are likely to move up in the next Baseball Youth Elite 25 poll due out the week of June 23.

Only 13 spots remain for this summer’s National Youth Baseball Championships. The Show join the SGV Hustle and BPA DeMarini Elite as the three automatic qualifiers so far. The AAU Grand Nationals begins Sunday, June 22 and wraps up on Saturday, June 28 with the 12U champion receiving the automatic bid.
