Travel Sports Baseball Hosts 2nd Annual Brian Crawford Memorial Tournament

BrianCrawford_Inside_42

Travel Sports Championship Tournaments hosted a sold out 2nd Annual Brian Crawford Memorial Benefit Tournament Feb. 22-24 at Oak Grove Park in Grapevine, Texas with teams from the Dallas-Fort Worth area competiting in one of eight age divisions.

The tournament raised money for the Brian Crawford Memorial Foundation whose goal is to build an all-turf baseball complex. The complex will be utilized to promote youth sports, community involvement and Christian faith.

Texas Elite won the 12U division championship over Outlaws Baseball, 6-0. Both teams were undefeated with four wins going into the title game, and they both survived tight one-run games in the semifinals to reach the finals.

In the 11U division, the Dallas Diabloz dominated their group averaging 10 runs a game en route to the championship. The Diabloz defeated the Dallas Tigers 11-1 in the title game in a matchup between undefeated teams.

It was an all Dallas Dodgers Black final in the 14U age group as the 13U squad played up and did very well against the older competition. The No. 1 seeded Pro Source Athletics were the favorites to win the championship after winning their two pool play games by a combined score of 20-0, but the 14U Dodgers Black had other ideas.

The two met in the semifinals, and the Dodgers Black squeaked out a hard fought 4-2 win. The final was another close game, but the older 14U Dodgers Black were able to get by their younger counterparts, 4-3.
