Triple Crown Fall Nationals Kick Off First Weekend of 2 in Florida

Fall Nationals.St.Aug.Fl

For the 16th straight year, St. Augustine, Florida is playing host to the Triple Crown Fall Nationals, and five age divisions mainly made up of older kids got the two-weekend event underway on Oct. 12-14.

Besides the 15U, 16U and 18U divisions, the 11U and 13U age groups competed during the first weekend. Each of the five divisions sold out months in advance.

In the 11U division, it was the Miami Prospects winning the Fall Nationals crown as they went undefeated in six games throughout the weekend. The Prospects squared off against BuckedUp Baseball in the championship game, winning 8-1. The Central FL Thunder and Sarasota Sting also went undefeated in pool play, but the Thunder were shocked in the opening round tournament game, and the Sting lost to the Prospects, 9-6, in the semifinals.

The Gainesville Ghosts took their undefeated pool play record and No. 1 seed and went all the way to the 13U championship game where they took down the No. 3 seed Pompano Piranhas, 14-6. The Ghosts were the only team out of 14 to not lose a pool play game.

There’s one more weekend of the Triple Crown Fall Nationals in St. Augustine, Florida coming up Oct. 19-21. The 8U, 9U, 10U, 12U, 13U and 14U teams will all be competing for titles.
